30 Days of Lists - complete collection (March 2011)

List 29: Favorite Foods
You may have noticed .... We didn't do a lot of (any?) 'Favorite' list prompts.
But, for food we will make an exception.
You did read about Kam and her love of tacos, right?
So, for today, indulge your love of all things edible.
What are your favorite foods?
I could eat salad every day if someone else made it. No question ..... and then wash it down with some ice cream .... Ha!
As I mentioned when showing y'all my book of lists, I'm using a 7x9" 3 ring binder, with the half-page minimal theme from the 30 Days of Lists pdf downloads.
Please head on over to the 30 Days of Lists Flickr group to see what other participants have come up with and add your own list!

List 28: Vacations To Take featuring Maryam from Pamplemousse1983
Maryam from Pamplemousse1983 here! Happy Monday! Ok, maybe not so happy but today's list might get your mind off the fact that it's the first day of the workweek for most people.
--------------------------
Prompt 27: Vacations to Take
If you're like me, you are constantly planning your next vacation. Thinking about where you'd like to go, what you would like to see, where you'd like to stay, etc. I tried to focus my list on places I haven't been before but with a couple of exceptions, the first being Hawaii which I'm not sure I should count because the one time I was there (other than being in the airport) we were only in Honolulu and all I remember was going to McDonald's...I was very young at the time. I think we were there for like a day or two.
The other exception is Haifa, Israel. I think I've been there maybe 5 times total? I even lived there for about 3 months until the Lebanese war broke out. It's a holy place for my religion and the hubs and I are planning to go for pilgrimage next spring. I'm super excited about it as he's never been! Plus, we'll be travelling with our first child who will be about 10 months then, so that should definitely be an adventure. On the way we'll stop in Belgium to visit my dad's side of the family and if all works out my parents will also meet us out there. Needless to say we're already saving up for this trip.
Now I want to know what's your next trip? Or fantasy trip? Where does your little heart desire to visit?
--------------------------
Thank you SO much Maryam for being our sponsor this month! We were so luck to have you!

List 27: Lessons Learned
Today's list is a bit reflective .... but feel free to be as flippant as you like :)
OK, I could NOT get this to post vertical, I saved it so many different times :( So the list says 1. Don't touch a flat iron without being sure its off. 2. Check the dates on milk 3. Don't eat chicken and waffles right before bed 4. Don't be afraid to say no 5. Don't put all your eggs in one basket 6. Don't have wishful thinking when it comes to your gas tank.
In case you missed it, we answered a few of your questions and posted information about a 30 Days of Lists newsletter in a post last week, and we announced the giveaway winner :)
30 Days of Lists is a collaboration between Kam of Campfire Chic, Amy of Lemon and Raspberry and Justine of A New Beginning.
Amy's Take

So .... I'm kind of that person who will offer you advice even if you don't ask for it. I'm sorry. :) Everyone has one friend like that, right?
Some of the lessons below I've learned myself the hard way ... .and some of them are based on mistakes I've seen other people make .....

I love our Sunday posts...I really like showing how there is no right way to do this challenge, and to see how similar/different we are from one another :) I can't wait to meet these two ladies IRL. Maybe we'll even post about it!In case you missed it, we answered a few of your questions and posted information about a 30 Days of Lists newsletter in a post last week, and we announced the giveaway winner :)

Prompt 26: Books I'd Like to Read This Year
Amy, Justine, and I have something very big in common...we're complete bookworms! There is always a book we'd like to pick up from the bookstore/library, we're quick to recommend books we love, and Harry Potter is no stranger to our shelves :)
With that, I'm here to announce today's prompt!
With that, I'm here to announce today's prompt!
List 26: Books I'd Like to Read This Year
It's a little hard to read, so here's my list:
- The Maze Runner
- Dracula, The Undead
- Red Pyramid
- Boneshaker
- The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher
- Atlas Shrugged
- Deja Dead
- Hickory Dickory Dead
- Batman: Arkham Asylum
- The Grey Wolf Throne
- The Son of Neptune
- Bullet
- Hit List
- Matched
- Incarceron
- The Scorch Trails
- The Throne of Fire
- The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Quite the list, right? And what's worse is that most of those are already on my bookshelf! I buy books faster than I can read them *shrug* but at least I'm never alone, right? I don't know if you've seen this post about the importance of dating a girl who reads floating around the interwebs, but Justine has it on her blog, I suggest you read it :)
Here is a photo of one of our shelves...we have two bookcases...one is a three shelf, the other is six shelf unit.
OVERFLOWING!
Pull the books forward and you see a mess load of books behind them! Yes, you're seeing that correctly...books lined up the way they should be PLUS books laid on top of them. We're sick.
I'm looking forward to seeing what books you're
hoping to read this month/season/year!
Even though I shouldn't order any more books,
I'd love some recommendations :)

List 25: Things I'd Rather be Doing Right Now
Happy Friday!
Today's list prompt is about remembering all those things you would love to be doing if you didn't have to be, you know. Responsible and stuff :)
Things I'd Rather be Doing Right Now

I'm slowly but surely crafting my "work" time around activities that I enjoy, but if I was truly honest ...... If I wasn't going to work today, or blogging for next week, I would rather be:
reading, sleeping, reading, sleeping, traveling
Not a lot to ask, right?
As I mentioned when showing y'all my book of lists, I'm using a 7x9" 3 ring binder, with the half-page minimal theme from the 30 Days of Lists pdf downloads.
Please head on over to the 30 Days of Lists Flickr group to see what other participants' have come up with and add your own list!
Can't wait to hear what you all would rather be doing!

List 24: I Make Lists For:
DISCLAIMER- My camera is MIA, so this photo was taken on my phone, and it's awful, I hope you forgive me!
OK, well this is a fun one! What do you like to make lists for! You know we all do, since we are doing this project :) I used to collect all my lists I made and I would staple them into a cute journal that I would turn into a planner, because I feel like I have never bought a planner that suits all my needs, so I always create my own. Do you feel me on that? Or am I crazy?
(Can I just say I cannot believe we are on list 24! I feel like it was just yesterday when Kam emailed Amy and I about this, and that was in January!)
I love being able to just make lists, everyday for something new. Have any of you used one of the Listography books? I see them a lot, but I don't know if they are worth the money, let a girl know if you have bought one! :)

List 23: Guilty Pleasures
I'm lucky I use such small sheets of paper...today's list could go on for...well, days! I enjoy some pretty silly things...eating ice cream straight from the carton, changing the metric on my Google Analytics so I am shown a graph with positive movement, favoriting things on Etsy I know I'll never buy, yelling at the people on House Hunters for not choosing a home based on the dumbest things...On a rare occasion I'll be too ashamed to admit that I like something that I know most people don't like, but I am usually pretty outspoken when it comes to my guilty pleasures.
List 23: Guilty Pleasures
Guilty Pleasure: something pleasurable that induces a usually minor feeling of guilt. Something that brings pleasure but is considered taboo, unadvisable or lowbrow. First known use, 1907. (Merriam-Webster, Wiktionary)
Confession: That's my bathroom. I'm in my pajamas.
If you can't read my list, here is what I wrote:
- A spoonful of nutella
- Spam (the food)
- Jersey Shore (tomorrow is Jersday!)
- RAW (as in wrestling)
- Dark chocolate anything
- Jack in the Box tacos
- McDonald's orange 'soda'
- Movie/TV show marathons (House/L&O:SVU)
- Collecting 4square badges ('checking in' in general!)
- Cussing
- IZZE drinks (written on the back of an IZZE carton)
- Leggings as pants
- EMU boots
I could go on, but that seems excessive.
What is on your list?
P.S. Today is the last day to enter the giveaway for an octopus notepad from Boygirlparty!

List 22: Today I saw...
Confession: This list prompt was inspired by Jill's Today I Saw blog. If you're not familiar with her work, I encourage you to check it out.
Today's prompt is about noticing the things around you - big and little.
As I mentioned when showing y'all my book of lists, I'm using a 7x9" 3 ring binder, with the half-page minimal theme from the 30 Days of Lists pdf downloads.
Image is of my drive to work. That is west-bound Wilshire Blvd, and I work in the white building on the right.
Text reads:
traffic on the 405; billboard for GLEE; Ralph's grocery store; Ralph's parking attendant vigilantly keeping non-shoppers out; our across-the-way neighbor watering her plants; Andrew getting my morning coffee (xo)
Please head on over to the 30 Days of Lists Flickr group to see what other participants' have come up with and add your own list!

List 21: Things To Do This SPRING.
You know what I love about the blog world, but find funny? Every time a new season arrives, we all can't WAIT for it to start, its cute. We all get each other excited about everything. Talk about a great support group! I hope you all entered in the giveaway! We have some exciting things plans for the end of this month/project. I am so sad it is almost over. :(
A few things about my list: So, in a few weeks I am going camping with Cal and Kam, so I am super stoked about that. I also am going on the HCG diet next Sunday, so after the initial 3 weeks I hope to start running. THEN, I want to cut off all my hair! Yay!
What are your biggest goals for this Spring?
Is there anything you do every Spring?
<3 Justine.

List 20: Celebrity Crushes
For today's list, it's OK to admit to some things you might not otherwise
This could be actors and musicians, it could be thinkers and writers, it could even be historical figures you admire. Think of "crush" as liberally as you like....
Text reads:
Adrien Brody, Montgomery Clift, Dick van Dyke, Christian Bale, Jamie Bell, Harry Connick Jr.
And, somehow I forgot Viggo Mortensen! I added him after the photo was taken, not to worry.
I tend to love crooked mouths .... I also have a lanky-nerdy-type going on :)
I don't know if you see the pattern here...why do the names for the men on my list all start with the letter J?? Craziness. Who knows. Yes, I broke mine down into boy-crushes and girl-crushes, because I'm not afraid to admit that these women are beautiful! I was a little cramped for time (I'm sure you understand) and wasn't able to cram all the people I would like on this list, but there is always next time, right? Edit: I just read Amy's list, and how could I forget Adrien Brody?! My mister has the same nose, so I'm quite fond of him, to say the least :) Thanks for the reminder, Amy!

This was so fun! It's funny how easy there were to come up with! I broke it down to actors and musicians :) But, I was lazy and didn't know two of the musicians names hahaha, so you will have to bear with me.
Speaking of Joseph Gordon- Levitt, do any of you guys follow his tumblr? I love his work! And him!

List 19: Recipes to Try
It's Kam again! Hi. I can't believe it's the end of the week already. I hope you had a good one, Spring is right around the corner! Yay :)
My mouth was watering the entire time I wrote up my list for today. How could it not be watering when today's prompt involves yummy food?
My stomach is rumbling.
I'm pretty domestically challenged, but I can make a few quality meals without the use of a recipe...macaroni and cheese (no, not Blue Box), cheese or chicken or veggie enchiladas, breakfast burritos (with soysauge or turkey bacon), pizza, and a few other small dishes. Nothing to boast about...my boyfriend says I have the tastes of a homeless four-year-old so that tells you what I like to eat ;)

List 18: Road Trip Must-Haves featuring CaL
Hello there,
I'm CaL from Boardwalk To Eden & I am so excited to share my list for today with you since I am, in fact, on a road trip this very minute. Heading up to San Francisco to see blog friends, of course!
When Kam asked me to participate in the 30 Days of Lists challenge I was so jazzed. Listing things just so happens to be my strong point when it comes to writing, designing, creating, decision making. Pretty much anything I can make a list for, I will.

Because my writing is sloppy & small, here's what's on that list:
1. favorite v-neck.
2. shorts.
3. favorite hoodie.
4. TOMS.
5. duffel bag.
6. water.
7. chex mix.
8. carmex.
9. iPhone.
10. sunglasses.
11. camera.
12. destination.
13. FUN.

Basically, comfort is key when you plan to be on the road for an extended period of time. Take, for example, my trip today where I'll be on the road for about 8 hours. Water & snacks are important because stopping along the way is a pain. Carmex is always good in case you want to let the wind hit you in your face without getting cracked up lips. Sunglasses are a must for any glaring highway. My camera is my baby, it's a G11 & will be documenting my trip. & because I am sort of weird with numbers & such, I made a number 13 - have fun! Don't let the long hours on the road get you down. Embrace the serene beauty of the open road! Play some music & smile!
Happy list-making bambinos!

List 17: Words That are Hard to Spell.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
I have always wanted to visit Chicago on St. Patty's day, and of course, Ireland. I am Irish, but I never really celebrate.
Is anyone doing anything super fun?
Well, about our 17th list.. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT'S ALREADY THE 17th LIST! We are almost done :(
This was an easy/fun list to do, and it gets you thinking about all those words you might hate, like me!
Do you have any of the same words as me? Don't make fun of my words! :)
*There's over 1200 photos on in the flickr pool! (I am awful at uploading my photos, it is my goal to spend 2 hours on flickr this weekend)

List 16: Places to See in Your Town with Mal of Sunday Morning Sugar
Kam here with today's list prompt. I personally love visiting new cities/towns. I spend lots of time online asking people for places to visit, researching hikes, and scouting out hole-in-the-wall gems that may otherwise not be mentioned in main travel books/websites. I also believe that every town has something special to offer and a story to share.
Today, we have Mal of Sunday Morning Sugar with us to share her list for today's prompt!
Prompt 16: Places to See in Your Town
Hello hello!
When Justine first announced this project on her blog, I was thrilled. I am an avid list-maker and I really don’t have enough time to participate with all of the art journaling projects. List-making on the other hand, I’m a champ.
I live in Chicago and I think that I live in the best place around (except in the winter!) so there are really a lot of things to do in this town. Here’s my list…
In case you can’t read the writing, it says:
-The Bean
-Willis Tower
-John Hancock Building
-Water Tower
-Millennium Park
-Navy Pier
-Buckingham Fountain
-Aquarium
-Art Institute
-Museum of Science and Industry
-Museum of Natural History
-Wrigley Field
-Tribune Tower
-Zoo
What is there to see in your town? I listed a lot of the tourist hot spots but my real favorite thing to do in Chicago is eat.
I can’t wait to see your lists :). Thanks so much for having me.
Xoxo
Mal

List 15: On My Shopping List
For today's list prompt: Take a look at what you've been meaning to purchase
What is on your shopping list?
I tend to always have a few shopping lists going ..... Grocery store and/or Costco, Target for cleaning supplies and/or house stuff, birthday gifts, craft supplies for specific projects, etc etc etc ...
Since I generally go grocery shopping on Tuesday or Wednesday, here's a peek at what I'll be getting for food for the week:

As I mentioned when showing y'all my book of lists, I'm using a 7x9" 3 ring binder, with the half-page minimal theme from the 30 Days of Lists pdf downloads.
Image is an iPhone photo from a previous week's shopping.
Text reads:
vegetables - always always tomato, cucumber and bell pepper; cheese - always; fruit - what's on sale; possibly chicken or steak - depending on what Andrew is in the mood for; coffee and coffeemate creamer; ice cream?
Although, I'm not really sure why I wrote the question mark after ice cream ... I ALWAYS want to buy ice cream. :)
Please head on over to the 30 Days of Lists Flickr group to see what other participants' have come up with and add your own list!

List 13: DIYs I Want to Try Featuring Holly Knitlightly
While Sunday is normally a day where Amy, Justine, and I share our lists for the day, today we have a special guest! I would like to introduce you to Holly of Holly Knitlightly! She is one of our lovely sponsors, and when we asked her to be a part of this project, she immediately jumped on board :)
Hey everyone! I'm Holly from Holly Knitlightly & first of all I just want to say, how awesome are Kam, Amy & Justine for putting together this blog? What an awesome idea!
I have been loving all of the lists you guys have been making. You guys are so creative and have been giving me a lot of ideas! I can't wait to see your lists for today, for DIYs you want to try! I have a feeling I'll be adding quite a few ideas to my list! I have a ton of ideas of new things I want to try, I even go out & buy supplies (or sign up for online courses), but then I go back to knitting and just shove everything in a corner. I want that to change though, and hopefully putting it down on a list will give me that shove in the right direction to start some of these! Who knows, they could become my new passion!
Here is what my list says:
** Note for our international friends**
DIY stands for 'Do It Yourself'
This prompt is about listing the craft projects or home-remodeling or other do-it-yourself projects you want to remember to try.
- Sewing (skirts, bags, pillows)
- Candle making
- Soap making
- Embroidery
- Bookbinding
- Scrapbooking/Journaling (travel journals)

List 12: Weekly Rituals
Do you do something each week? Specific TV shows you watch, a special dinner on a certain night, or a class you take early in the morning? Let's hear about them!
At least, those are my goals each week. I can tell you this much...I eat lunch out of the office each Friday, that one won't be messed with ;) I work next to a mall and across the street from some awesome eateries so it is hard to resist spending my lunch hour out of the office!

List 11: Date Night Ideas
For today's list, start brainstorming some DATE NIGHT Ideas!!
It is Friday, after all...... :)
We do NOT mean only romantic dates (although, that is what I listed below) - Think also about best friend dates, parent-child dates, or by-yourself dates ...
Be creative!
My list happens to be Los Angeles-centric:
As I mentioned when showing y'all my book of lists, I'm using a 7x9" 3 ring binder, with the half-page minimal theme from the 30 Days of Lists pdf downloads.
The IMAGE is from one of our date nights .... On a late Sunday afternoon, my husband and I picked up a pizza to go, grabbed a roll of paper towels and drove out to Malibu for dinner on the beach. There was almost no one there that close to sunset .... It was so peaceful and amazing!
Text reads:
pizza on the beach at sunset, record shopping at a thrift store, coffee and the Getty museum, Annenberg photography center, walk around the neighborhood, cook dinner and Netflix, morning hike followed by Menchies
Please head on over to the 30 Days of Lists Flickr group to see what other participants' have come up with and add your own list!
